About me

A warm welcome to private Integrative psychotherapy and counselling with Carolina.

Specialising in: ANXIETY DISORDERS * DEPRESSION * LOW SELF-ESTEEM * ANGER *  BURNOUT * RELATIONSHIP ISSUES * CHILDHOOD TRAUMA * ATTACHMENT * FAMILY ISSUES * STRESS * ADHD * BEREAVEMENT & GRIEF * PTSD * ADDICTIONS * TRAUMA * MENTAL HEALTH DISORDERS

I work with adult women’s health, adult men’s health, students 16+, couples and private healthcare insurance referrals.

I provide bespoke Integrative psychotherapy, counselling and coaching to suit the unique needs of each person, in-person and online. I work in private practice in the Surrey Hills GU5, Central London SW7, and online worldwide. I have considerable experience as an Integrative psychotherapist, counsellor and coach, conducting sessions both in-person and online.

I offer long-term psychotherapy, short-term counselling (+12 sessions), or single session therapy (one-off), and a confidential, safe and stable sanctuary to explore your emotions, behaviours, relationships, and life's complexities.

With a compassionate demeanour, I bring a unique blend of clinical expertise and a nuanced understanding of human behaviour and its complexities, drawing from a wealth of experience and a rich professional background in corporate, education, academia, high-performing industries, health and wellbeing, and mental health. I specialise in treating a wide spectrum of issues, ranging from acute anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, childhood trauma, family issues, stress, anger, and relationship conflicts to complex trauma, PTSD, addictions, bereavement, loss, identity issues, health conditions, work-related career concerns, ADHD, personality disorders, and mood disorders.

Whether you're navigating emotional and physical pain, destructive relationship patterns, childhood trauma, or monumental life events, therapy with me serves as a unique relationship alliance characterised by empathy, trust, knowledge, understanding, and confidentiality.

I provide empathic, nonjudgemental and insightful support for you to explore your emotions and thoughts at your pace. My Integrative approach allows me to work with your presenting issues in the way that is most helpful to you and your understanding of your relational world. I facilitate the way forward for you to make different choices that will empower you in a positive way to improve your mental health and physical well-being. Together, we will work on strategies that allow you to address and overcome any symptoms of adversity you’re experiencing, and the root causes of your difficulties, helping you feel more empowered to live a more fulfilled and happier life.

I believe in the transformative power of self-exploration and communication, coupled with a supportive therapist-client relationship and understanding working alliance, marked by trust, care, and confidentiality, and Yalom’s (1989) insightful words, “It’s the relationship that heals.” Consequently, I actively collaborate with you to set goals, enhance self-awareness and promote healing. Through a tailored and Integrative therapeutic approach, I empower you to build stronger foundations for your mental well-being and develop the skills you need to thrive in both personal and professional spheres.

As an Integrative psychotherapist and counsellor, I work with the following modalities: Relational, Humanistic, Attachment Theory,  Trauma-informed neurobiology, CBT,  Existential, Psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis (TA), EMDR, Somatically, Couples Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Interpersonal Neurobiology.

WHAT RESULTS CAN YOU EXPECT?

The therapeutic process is a deeply personal and transformative journey that is unique for every one of us. It requires dedication, effort, and a willingness to delve into the inner self, and explore one's thoughts, feelings, emotions, behaviours, and experiences. Integrative counselling and psychotherapy opens the door to a wide range of positive transformations, including:

  • Calmer ways of being and interacting with yourself and your relationships.
  • Gain profound insights into the root causes of your challenges.
  • Understand the triggers behind unhelpful thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and actions.
  • Cultivate new, effective behaviours that yield positive outcomes in both life and relationships.
  • Surpass self-imposed limitations, discovering a realm beyond negativity.
  • Attain a sense of equilibrium, bringing balance to various facets of your life.
  • Craft and pursue goals that resonate with your inner well-being.
  • Bring greater levels of self-awareness and happiness.
  • Unleash the untapped potential of your mind, body and soul.
  • Embrace a more open and receptive approach to life's journey.

*****

I invite you to embark on a journey of self-discovery and growth, where the challenges you face become opportunities for transformation.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
