About me

A very warm welcome to private Integrative psychotherapy and counselling with Carolina.

Specialising in: * Anxiety * Depression * Low self-esteem * Relationship issues * Family issues * ADHD * Bereavement * Adult Trauma * Childhood Trauma * Attachment * Work-related Stress * PTSD * Anger * Addiction * Identity * Mental Health Disorders * Burnout *.

I work with women’s health, men’s health, couples, students, and private healthcare insurance referrals, in person from my private practice in the Surrey Hills GU5 and London, and online worldwide.

I provide bespoke integrative psychotherapy, counselling, and coaching to suit the unique needs of each person. I have extensive experience as an integrative psychotherapist, counsellor, and coach, offering long-term psychotherapy, short-term counselling (12+ sessions), or single-session therapy (one-off), providing a confidential and safe sanctuary for you to explore your emotions, behaviours, relationships, and life's complexities. I also provide EMDR therapy to address trauma (Eye-Movement, Desensitisation and Reprocessing), DBT, and third-wave CBT.

Whether you're navigating emotional pain, destructive relationship patterns, trauma, physical pain, or monumental life events, therapy with me serves as a unique relationship alliance characterised by empathy, trust, knowledge, understanding, and confidentiality. I provide empathic, nonjudgmental, and insightful support for you to explore your emotions and thoughts at your pace. With a compassionate demeanour, I bring a unique blend of clinical expertise and a nuanced understanding of human behaviour and its complexities. My approach is enriched by extensive experience and a diverse professional background in mental health, corporate world, academia, high-performing industries, health and wellbeing, and psychology.

A normal part of being human is experiencing challenges in life, but sometimes those challenges may feel overwhelming. When life events bring about pain or distress, they may prompt us to question our fundamental beliefs; we may begin to reassess our habitual responses and explore alternative ways of being. As we don’t choose our genetic and developmental background, the journey of self-exploration can be challenging, perplexing, and intricate. Research indicates that seeking professional therapy significantly increases our likelihood of success in the recovery process. Psychotherapy can be a powerful, life-changing experience, enabling you to overcome emotional, relational, or social challenges, to bring the unconscious into the conscious, to improve your mental health, and to fulfil your incredible potential and journey in life.

My integrative approach allows me to work with your presenting issues and symptoms in the way that is most helpful to you and your understanding of your relational world. I facilitate the way forward for you to make different choices that will empower you to improve your mental health and physical well-being. Together, we will work on strategies that allow you to address and overcome any symptoms of suffering and adversity you may be experiencing, understand the root causes of your difficulties, allow you to build stronger foundations for your mental well-being and develop the skills you need to thrive in both personal and professional spheres, helping you feel more empowered to live a more fulfilled and happier life.

My strengths lie in my capacity to build strong relationships with my clients, whereby you feel understood and supported, while simultaneously adapting my intellectual rigour, clinical expertise, and psychotherapeutic knowledge to best meet your specific needs. Together, we can explore current and past experiences, and discover new ways of approaching challenging situations, providing practical coping strategies that will support your psychological well-being. It's like exploring the ocean's depths while also riding the waves. It addresses the whole you—mind, body, and soul. It's not just about symptoms, but your overall well-being and happiness, empowering you to be an active participant in your own healing journey.

Integrative psychotherapy is like the eclectic playlist of therapeutic approaches—I combine different clinical evidence-based methods and a comprehensive range of psychological and clinical therapies tailored to suit the unique needs of each person, considering your specific issues, symptoms, personality, and preferences. Integrative therapy is versatile and flexible, drawing on many different psychological theories and therapeutic models to help you explore and manage your symptoms.

My integrative therapeutic style is relational and empowering with a strong leaning towards humanistic, person-centred, attachment theory, trauma-informed neurobiological approaches, psychodynamic, transactional analysis (TA), Third Wave CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), existential theory, mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), EMDR, somatic, and interpersonal neurobiology.

WHAT RESULTS CAN YOU EXPECT?

The therapeutic process is a deeply personal and transformative journey unique for every one of us. It requires dedication, effort, and a willingness to delve into the inner self, and explore one's thoughts, feelings, emotions, behaviours, and experiences. Integrative counselling and psychotherapy open the door to a wide range of positive transformations, including:

  • Calmer ways of being and interacting with yourself and your relationships.
  • Gain profound insights into the root causes of your challenges.
  • Address current life challenges, process past trauma, and develop strategies for future resilience.
  • Understand the triggers behind unhelpful thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and actions.
  • Greater understanding of how neurobiological processes affect your body and mind.
  • Cultivate new, effective behaviours that yield positive outcomes in both life and relationships.
  • Surpass self-imposed limitations, discovering a realm beyond negativity.
  • Attain a sense of equilibrium, bringing balance to various facets of your life.
  • Craft and pursue goals that resonate with your inner well-being.
  • Bring greater levels of self-awareness and happiness.
  • Unleash the untapped potential of your mind, body and soul.
  • Embrace a more open and receptive approach to life's journey.

I invite you to embark on a journey of self-discovery and growth, where the challenges you face become opportunities for transformation.
