I offer Psychotherapy/ Counselling and Play Therapy to both Adults and Young People throughout Leicestershire and the surrounding areas, as well as clinical supervision to trainees and other experienced therapists in practice. With 15 years of experience counselling and supervising for organisations covering specialist work with bereavement, abuse, depression, anxiety, relationship breakdown, generically in a number of settings across Leicestershire, including National Charities and Organisations, Local Authorities, Schools, Universities, SEN Schools, Youth Centres, Care Homes and Colleges, I have a good solid grounding and insight into the breadth and depth of human experience.
I trained in Humanistic Therapy with focus on the Person-Centred Approach. Essentially this means you will be met with warmth, love and acceptance regardless of your thoughts/ feelings/behaviour/experiences. You will not be judged or dictated to, but rather the aim is to work equally and relationally, building up trust, respect and a safe space to share your real word. Over time in our work, you will be able to explore difficulties and deeper issues, at your own pace, gaining a better understanding and awareness of yourself, and your relationships. Building trust in yourself, accepting your own feelings (instead of fighting against them) will help to develop greater confidence and control of your life. There may also be a huge backlog of untold story that needs to be heard and felt....the therapeutic space will allow this to unfold at a safe pace.
I am more than happy to talk over the phone or via email, offer information on other services that may be of help- or generally discuss the best way forward for your individual needs. Call/ email or text any time and I will get back to you within 24 hours.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Whether you are seeking help for yourself, a child or a relative, contact Laura directly to have a chat about what support is the most appropriate. You can explore all the options available, including other services which may be able to help. If you decide to have an assessment session, this is a chance for you to raise any questions about what to expect, and ultimately decide whether or not you feel therapy is for you. Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly, but this will be decided based on your personal needs.
