MBACP accredited IPT UK accredited

About me

I am BACP registered and accredited with 12 years of professional work experience. I am qualified in the IAPT modalities Person Centred Experiential - Counselling for Depression, and Interpersonal Therapy. PCE-CFD is a person centred approach to alleviate symptoms of depression and IPT is a structured, time-limited therapy that focuses on a specific focal area such as; Interpersonal relationships, complex grief and loss, changes in life circumstances and social functioning  and other mental health conditions. Being an integrative therapist I adapt my style and approach depending on individual needs.

It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment and to support & empower you in that journey.

I have a tiny little dog who is happy to sleep during your therapy session, she can have a very calming influence in the therapy room, but she can be easily removed if preferred.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have previously worked for charities and other mental health organisations since completing my training in Therapeutic Counselling in 2013. For 5 years I combined a clinical role with a managerial position in a counselling service of a large national charity.

I have worked in a specialist service counselling victims of sexual violence for women, men and children.

I currently work for an IAPT NHS service alongside my private counselling and clinical supervision practice.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
