About me

As a woman of colour, I specialise in working with South Asian populations, managing systemic and personal challenges across cultures, individualist vs collectivist, spirituality, religion, language, race, power and family dynamics, shame, gender and sexuality.  As an expert in my field and you an expert in your experience, we work together to deepen and expand your understanding.  I walk beside you and guide you to overcoming and managing the difficulties you are facing.  I offer a safe and non-judgemental space for you to explore your thoughts and emotions.  I work eclectically, tailoring each treatment to your unique needs.

I draw from the person centred model, cognitive behavioural therapy, solution focused therapy, psychoanalytic, transactional model, mindfulness, dialectical behavioural therapy, somatic therapy, developmental model, and acceptance and compassion therapy. I work with adults with a spectrum of severity in risk and complex presentations - anxiety, depression, low self esteem, social phobia, specific phobias, OCD, any trauma and PTSD including cPTSD, anger, shame, confusion, loneliness, sexuality, identity challenges, family difficulties, faith, relational difficulties, grief, physical health challenges. It takes courage to choose a more fulfilling and happier life, to choose to reduce your suffering and to take the first steps towards making this happen.  I would like to support & empower you in that journey.

I offer individual sessions for adults aged 17+, couples therapy and individual and group CBT supervision.  I am fully BABCP accredited.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have many years of experience working in various settings - primary and secondary schools, GP surgery, mental health hospitals, domestic violence and sexual abuse mental health charities, bereavement charities, addiction services and NHS IAPT services.

I draw from many models to support each individual client and their unique needs - person centred, CBT, CFT, MCBT, ACT, DBT, developmental, psychoanalytic, existential therapy, somatic therapy and life coaching.

I have trained to work with under-represented ethnic groups, culture, women's and men's issues, intersectionality, sexuality and gender, anxieties and depression, low self esteem, anger, long term physical health conditions, eating disorders and body dysmorphia, PTSD and complex PTSD.
