About me
Welcome!
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile which I hope will be helpful.
My name is Andrea and I am an Integrative psychotherapist, working within a humanistic, relational, and developmental framework
How can I help you
I specialise in supporting clients on the ASD spectrum along with ADHD, Dyslexia, and Dyspraxia. Having worked for over 40 years in this field I appreciate the high levels of anxiety these disorders contribute, often leaving you with the sense that anxiety itself gets in your way with progressing and living life. With my various therapeutic interventions I have to offer, my aim is to develop a working attunement to help make sense of your life and the different mis-attunements that may have occurred in your life, which will often be attributed to the underlying cause of the constant feelings of both anxiety and depression.
I am currently working with clients who are seeking to understand how certain aspects of anxiety and depression can affect their lives from moving forward.
My Therapeutic Approach
One of the aspects of my approach as an Integrative psychotherapist means I will support you to understand your present day experiences within the context of your whole life, as our ways of 'being' are shaped and developed right from our very early experiences. This often means that the root of our difficulties can often be felt as out of control or in other words "beyond our conscious awareness". This approach can support clients to explore and understand why they might feel the way they do.
Another important element of my approach is that I am relational. This means that I am not solely focused on how a client understands and forms their relationships but rather that I meet you as human to human and seek to provide a collaborative experience as we work through your difficulties together. In developing a healthy attachment between therapist and client, personal re-enactments of relational difficulties can often occur during the session which can be gently explored in our work together. This gives us a real or 'live' experience through which to work through things differently.
I also offer Eurythmy( movement ) therapy which is a type of movement therapy that addresses constitutional and health issues that may occur within our body. This movement therapy can be integrated into our psychotherapy work, to help reduce anxiety and depression while supporting to become a "better breather". I specialised in developmental disorders while working in the NHS and a private GP practice. I also worked in a variety of educational and therapeutic settings both at home and abroad and gained a Masters in this subject in 2014.
How to get started
If you are interested in working with me, I would be happy to have a chat with you to see about working together and to book in an initial assessment. The initial assessment session will give you the opportunity to talk about what brings you to therapy and what you hope to achieve, as well as getting a sense of me and my way of working, and whether this is right for you.
I offer in person therapy sessions based in Nottingham as well as online work via zoom. My private practice is Monday to Saturday.
My therapy room is a warm and welcoming space located in my home and used solely for therapy sessions.
My location is accessible via public transport and has on street parking available.
If you are in the throes of considering whether to start therapy, I would warmly encourage you to do so. It can be a life changing experience and one that I would be honoured to join you on!

I am qualified as an Integrative Psychotherapist (masters level). I trained at The Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute. The Sherwood Institute is highly renowned for its in-depth psychotherapy training which concentrates on a rigorous academic program providing specific emphasis on the therapists personal development and self-awareness, which is at the heart of what makes an good therapist.
I have worked as an Integrative psychotherapist in private practice.
As well as my integrative training, I have completed my Eurythmy movement therapy training ( MA ) which I have worked with for many years . I offer movement therapy to all clients who might find it beneficial before of after each session to help support the integration of their thoughts , feelings and actions which through a series of simple movement exercises can support anxiety and regulate breathing.
I am committed to continuing all aspects of my professional development , which aims to enhance my knowledge, research and therapeutic skills by regularly attending training and workshops.
