About me

Scrolling to find the right therapist? It's overwhelming, but my job is to make the process easier. I am a licensed Psychotherapist (MSc) who works with adults (18+) and specializes in relationships, anxiety, depression, trauma, coping with grief and loss, and eating disorders.

Are you the kind of person who uses a smile to distract others from your pain? Then you're in the right place. I am here to facilitate you in creating your own bubble and safe space.

I am curious to understand more about your own inner world since it looks so different for each of us. My client base is diverse, with varied ages and life paths.

What is therapy?

By definition, therapy heals a disorder. Just like you would use medication to relieve physical ailments, in psychotherapy we adopt a talking treatment most appropriate for the pain or difficulties that you're experiencing to make you feel better or function adaptively in your daily life.

What approach do I use?

As a person-centered therapist, I believe that the relationship facilitates healing. Here, you are offered a space where you are heard in a way that is non-judgmental, genuine, and compassionate. You're allowed to have a voice, an opinion, and be human - this is something that isn't often graced to us in our daily lives.

While I am person-centered, I use an integrative approach. I'm a pluralist in this sense. I value many types of therapy approaches, so where treatments like CBT might be useful depending on what you're struggling with or presenting, we might discover that other approaches might be useful such as narrative therapy, inner child work, problem-solving therapy, or learning how to utilise breathing techniques to overcome panic and anxiety.

Taking the first step to seek a more fulfilling and contented life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

Trust that you've been led here for a reason.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Master's degree (MSc) in Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. I am currently a member of the BACP and also undertaking my accreditation award.

I love learning especially since humans are constantly evolving I believe continued professional development is important. Education informs my practice and can offer you relief in knowing more about how we work. I have undertaken numerous courses all of which serve to tailor my work to you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
