About me

Welcome, my name is Nicola, I am an experienced, Accredited BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotheapy) counsellor and psychotherapist supporting individuals and couples from my private practice in Frimley, Surrey.

We can experience times in our lives when we find it difficult to cope. I offer a safe, confidential, and caring space for you to explore whatever is troubling you. I can help you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours so you can develop a better understanding.  I will not give you my opinions or advice but will help you find your own solutions – whether that’s making effective changes in your life or finding ways of coping with your problems.

I am an Accredited member of the BACP with over 7 years of experience working with a wide range of issues, including working with young adults as a counsellor at a local college.

My approach is integrative, which means i am trained in a number of theories, and can tailor counselling to meet your needs.

Some counselling is short term and more solution focused and other times it is more long term and can be reviewed as we go.

Individual sessions are 50 minutes and cost £50

Couples sessions are 50 minutes and cost £65

I will always respect and honour the trust you place in me.

Training, qualifications & experience

As well as a trained couples counsellor I am also trained in Integrative Counselling from the Counselling & Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB) and am an Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).  I adhere to the BACP ethical framework to ensure I work safely and in the interests of my clients at all times.

My therapeutic work has been Accredited by the BACP; this is a well recognised and valued quality status for more experienced practitioners that recognises the achievement of high standards of knowledge, experience and development.

My approach is integrative, which means i am trained in a number of theories, and can tailor counselling to meet your needs.

As a fully qualified counsellor with experience in a wide variety of issues I have helped people experiencing anxiety, bereavement and loss, confidence issues, depression, difficulties coping with everyday life, panic attacks, personal development, relationship issues, unresolved childhood difficulties, self-esteem issues, self-harm or suicidal thoughts, and trauma and PTSD issues.

As well as working with adults and couples, I also work as a college counsellor, working with young adults.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
