I am a warm and professional counsellor/psychotherapist working in the heart of Exeter. As a therapist, my aim is to support you with the assistance, expertise and understanding that can enable you to make the changes in your life that you want.
My own decision to train and work as a psychotherapist evolved from a myriad of life experiences and challenges all of which have assisted me in my professional life.
I use a variety of approach tailored to each individual to help you explore and improve your ability to cope with your difficulties and wellbeing. My approach also is non-judgemental and aims to empowering you. The relationship that develops between us is important as part of the therapy process; that is being able to trust, feeling safe and understood, the the key of our work.
Making the choice to seek help for whether the reason is an important and encourages one, I hope whether here or elsewhere you will find the right support for yourself.
I attend regular CPD (continued professional development), previous CPD courses that I have completed on the following themes: Family therapy, Couple Work therapy (Tavistock Relationships), Domestic Abuse, Sleep therapy, Trauma, Private Practice, and Identity.
I am a registered (accred) member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and I am working toward the Accreditation. I am currently undertaking a Master degree (MSc) in Psychological Therapies Practice and Research: Psychodynamic/Psychoanalytic Therapy at University of Exeter. This entitles me to be a registered trainee member of BPF (British Psychotherapy Foundation) and PPA (Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Association).
I graduated from University of Exeter with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology Studies in 2009. I competed Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling at Exeter College, Devon in 2015.
