About me

Eugenie Young is an integrative psychotherapist with over 15 years of experience supporting individuals through emotional pain, psychological challenges, and profound inner change. Her work bridges traditional counselling with complementary, consciousness-based methods, creating a holistic, deeply attuned space for healing the mind, body, and spirit.

Eugenie's therapeutic style is grounded in person-centred counselling and integrates a range of modalities, both mainstream and complementary. Every session is tailored to meet the unique requirements of each individual, providing a respectful and confidential environment where clients feel genuinely seen, supported, and empowered throughout their healing journey.

She is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and trained in multiple complementary modalities, allowing her to hold space for complexity, whether clients arrive with long-standing emotional pain, identity concerns, physical symptoms linked to trauma or spiritual disconnection.

Some Areas of Support Include:

  • Depression, anxiety, panic, OCD, and emotional overwhelm
  • Trauma and abuse recovery (emotional, physical, sexual, psychological)
  • Grief, loss, suicidal ideation, and chronic emptiness
  • Low self-worth, shame, self-harm, and relational pain
  • Substance use and personality struggles
  • Gender identity, existential crisis, or loss of life direction
  • Spiritual exploration, intuitive sensitivity, and unexplained health symptoms
  • Personality disorders, abuse and loss of health
  • Relationship Issues

Trauma-Informed Abuse Recovery

A significant part of Eugenie's work centres on supporting survivors of abuse-related trauma. The lingering effects of emotional, physical, sexual, or psychological abuse can touch every aspect of life, from the ability to trust and connect to a sense of safety in one's own body.

Her practice offers a gentle, trauma-informed space where survivors are met with compassion, not judgment. Eugenie carefully tailors her approach to each person, supporting healing without re-traumatisation and honouring the pace and wisdom of each individual's process.

Spiritual Counselling & Personal Growth

Alongside psychotherapy, Eugenie also offers spiritual counselling and guidance for personal development. Many of her clients are navigating mystical experiences, spiritual awakenings, psychic sensitivity, or medically unexplained emotional and energetic states.

With her background in consciousness-based healing and vibrational medicine, Eugenie offers grounded, intuitive support to those seeking clarity, meaning, or a deeper connection to something greater. Together, she helps clients explore purpose, creativity, and identity — and align more deeply with their authentic selves.

 Client Testimonials

"When I first came to Eugenie, I was severely depressed, isolated, and battling serious digestive issues that left me unable to function. With her help and unwavering support, I've not only healed emotionally, I've regained my health, self-respect, and a renewed love for life. She helped me become someone I never thought I could be." – Matthew

"Eugenie is an incredibly intuitive, kind and effective counsellor and therapist. She helped my son in a big way when he was in a dark and lonely place. Her compassion and generosity know no bounds!" – Peter.

Eugenie's clients often describe her as both deeply intuitive and down-to-earth — someone who can hold the most delicate aspects of their story with strength and insight. Whether you're beginning your healing journey or looking to go deeper, her integrative method supports you in restoring emotional coherence, reconnecting with yourself, and living from a place of greater inner truth.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Therapeutic Setting & Way of Working

I offer counselling and psychotherapy from a peaceful, private room at Healthworks in the heart of Forres, Moray. The premises are discreet and welcoming, designed to support a sense of safety, calm, and confidentiality. The therapy room is thoughtfully arranged to create a warm and grounding environment, helping you feel at ease from the moment you arrive.

In addition to in-person sessions, I also work with clients online via secure video call, allowing flexibility for those who are unable to attend in person or who prefer the comfort of their own space.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, meaning I tailor our work to your unique needs and personality, drawing from a range of psychotherapeutic modalities — including person-centred, trauma-informed, somatic, and transpersonal approaches. Sessions may include gentle exploration, dialogue, reflective inquiry, and, when appropriate, creative or body-based methods to support emotional expression and deeper integration.

At the core of my work is a respect for your autonomy and inner wisdom. You will never be rushed, analysed, or pathologised. Instead, our sessions are a collaborative space for healing, insight, and reconnection with your most authentic self, no matter what you bring or where you are in your journey.
