About me

Counselling can provide a place for honesty for all the battles in our heads, from medical diagnoses, financial worries, past trauma, sexual desires, issues of gender, to self doubt and everyday compulsive negative thinking.

The understanding of our own experience, in a world that changes rapidly, where we are surrounded by limitless information that offers such contradictory explanations that can leave us feeling isolated and overwhelmed. Is it any wonder our confidence or self esteem are bruised along the way? I believe you can understand yourself differently, in a way that supports your success rather than holds you back. I would consider it a privilege to be part of your working these things out together.

All too often our younger selves encountered problems that have not been dealt with. Our upbringing may not have given us the opportunity to untangle what has happened and we may be left without a clear understanding of ourselves.

Finding, and maintaining, personal meaning amongst so much uncertainty is tough and can be a lonely task. However, you've decided to step towards a different future you needn't deal with it all alone.

Counselling can reduce anxiety and battle depression it can deepen our self belief as we strive to create a personal harmony between the internal and external tensions and find acceptance.

My therapeutic work is rooted in person-centred and existential philosophies. Which means I aim to approach the experience of life with curiosity and wonder. If you were to contact me. My belief is together we will face the unique challenges within your circumstances in order to meet and respond to them in a way that works best for you.

I consider myself an ally to those who have found their, personal orientations, interests and experiences beyond the conventional and cherish the opportunity to work with individuals who may find themselves marginalised for their way of being.

I have personal and professional experience of and understanding neurodiversity. Whether you have clinical diagnosis or not. I believe we are able to move from a blunt descriptor, through curious discussion towards making meaning and finding what works best for us. We can explore collaboratively and celebrate your individual qualities and support the fulfilment of your unique potential.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
