About me

I am an experienced English and Punjabi speaking Chartered Counselling Psychologist, registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC). At the heart of my practice is the development of safety, understanding and trust to foster a warm therapeutic relationship. For me, therapy is a process that involves working together to help facilitate change and tailoring my approach to your particular needs and preferences. To help that process of growth, I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space.

My approach is integrative, which allows me to tailor my approach to you, depending on your particular needs and preferences. I draw from a range of therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eating Disorder Focused CBT (CBT-ED), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Person-Centred, Neuroscience and Trauma, and Psychodynamic therapy. I offer a bespoke treatment plan for each unique individual with their own set of unique issues.

I use a goal-orientated approach, to ensure that I stay on track with what you would like to achieve from therapy, whether this relates to short-term goals that lend themselves to briefer therapy, or a longer-term, more in-depth exploration of long-standing issues.

Training, qualifications & experience

Experience

As a Counselling Psychologist, I am trained to a doctoral level to offer a range of therapies, drawing on evidence-based practices and more relationship-focused therapies to help appreciate the subjective experiences of the person and their individuality.

I have worked across a range of NHS services across London, including a personality disorder service, and a specialist eating disorders clinic in Chelsea (London) where I have offered specialist treatment for individuals suffering from anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorders and body image issues. I have also worked at University College London Hospital supporting nurses, doctors and other NHS staff with their mental wellbeing, emotional and practical needs to keep their psychological health at work and continue providing patient care. I am involved in providing psychological support and treatment for students and staff at the University of Warwick, managing a range of issues including anxiety, depression, work-related stress, perfectionism, procrastination, sexual identity, eating disorders, personality difficulties and learning difficulties, to name a few.

Alongside my counselling work, I work as a visiting lecturer on the Counselling Psychology Doctorate programme and the Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling Psychology at City, University of London, where I am involved in the assessment of clinical academic assignments, training and facilitation of weekly groups and deliver talks.
