About me

Therapy can help you get to know yourself better, clarify issues that matter to you, and develop your potential. It gives you the opportunity to work in ways that promote your ability to resolve problems or develop coping skills for things that cannot be changed.

Your most important step starts here, you are not alone,
I will walk alongside you.

My view for my potential clients when choosing a counsellor is that it can be tricky. I believe that an introductory session will allow you an opportunity to get to know more about me and my approach to therapy before you commit to working with me.

Deciding to see a counsellor isn’t always an easy choice for everyone. People seeking help often feel nervous about discussing the intense, serious emotional challenges they’re struggling with. Many aren’t entirely sure how therapy works. In either case, you probably want to ask questions about the therapy process and how I can support and can help you.

At the moment I am offering a reduced fee initial introductory session. This may help you get a feel for how I work and how best I can support you with your challenges. This is £12 for 30 minutes either via telephone or video platform.

My goal is to help my clients reach their ‘full potential’ supporting them along their journey to finding inner peace and happiness.

Understandably, some people are reluctant to talk about upsetting experiences, personal thoughts, and feelings.  Some wish to put things behind them as quickly as possible,  while others wish to process their feelings more slowly.  Talking about what has happened in a confidential and safe environment can help.
Speaking to a counsellor can give you an opportunity to express and accept your feelings about what has happened or how you feel but most importantly at your own pace, in your own time.

I offer Integrative therapy, which is sometimes referred to as holistic therapy. This eclectic approach included person-centered counselling, with a combination of Solution Focused Therapy with CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) guided by the nature of the difficulties to be addressed to best support positive changes.

I am also fully trained and qualified to include complimentary hypnotherapy in your session should you wish.
This eclectic approach helps clients find solutions to their problems and provide them with the knowledge, therapeutic tools, and strategies to help them manage their future challenges.

Training, qualifications & experience

When I qualified as a counsellor in 2003 I quickly realised a couple of very important things, most people who come for counselling are either in a crisis or fear they are heading that way.
In addition, I also realised that if I wanted people to put their trust in me to help them, then I had to really connect with people and instill trust, hope, and positivity from the start,

I am fully qualified, and I have more than 20 years of experience working face-to-face, online, and telephone counselling sessions.
I am an accredited member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and psychotherapy)  I have worked for several crisis helplines during my career.

I provide affordable, professional, and accessible, online/telephone counselling. It’s easy to access using email or instant messenger platforms such as Watsapp, Zoom ect. I offer a fair price to everyone, (concessions available to students and those on a low income) Wherever you are in the UK from a PC, laptop, or mobile device

Life including the people in our lives can throw many obstacles and challenges in our path. Finding your way through these challenges can define our levels of self-worth and ultimately our happiness and well-being.

I am looking forward to working with you, getting to know you, and discovering together which issues could possibly be holding you back. We can work collectively to help make coping possible and to begin the journey towards feeling better from this moment on.

As a BACP Accredited & Registered Counsellor I offer my sessions via; Online chat, Secure video chat, Email or Telephone, for individuals seeking to lead more meaningful and fulfilling lives. I offer short, mid, and long-term counselling to suit client needs.  The length of individual therapy differs according to the nature of the difficulties addressed.

Short-Term Counselling is typically 6-12 sessions.

Mid-Term Counselling is typically 6-12 sessions.

Long-Term Counselling is typically over 12 sessions

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
