About us

As a qualified psychotherapist/counsellor, I am dedicated to working with adults, young people and children to help them overcome their challenges and reach their full potential. I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where individuals can explore their thoughts and feelings in a supportive and empathetic environment.

My approach is integrative, which means using various techniques from the major therapeutic models to best meet the needs of my clients. I have extensive experience working with a wide range of difficulties and my work with children and young people uses age-appropriate methods to help them express themselves. Some of my specialist areas are anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, relationship issues, stress management, phobias and fears and anger management. I teach mindfulness and run Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) workshops.

I manage a dedicated team of professional and placement counsellors who work for Mindful Life Counselling CIC at the Elysia Centre. We are a not for profit organisation as we believe in offering affordable counselling and wellbeing workshops for all. This includes children from aged four, teenagers, young adults and older adults. Please contact me for further details regarding our free and affordable counselling sessions.

Member organisations *

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

We have verified that at least one professional at this organisation is registered with the relevant professional body.

Additional information

Our fees differ from service to service. Please speak to us about what support you need, and your budget.

At Mindful Life Counselling CIC, we aim for therapy to be accessible for all people, so we also work with counsellors-in-training, completing placement hours, to provide 8 sessions of free counselling, and affordable open ended in-person counselling sessions for adults.

*All our counsellors-in-training are skill-assessed to ensure they are able to provide a high quality of counselling, and go through a thorough interview process with Mindful Life Counselling. They have all been training for a minimum of 12 months prior to commencing placements. All our counsellors, both in-training and qualified, are required to have regular support from an experienced supervisor and be members of professional bodies, such as the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy, who hold counsellors accountable for working safely and ethically.

At Mindful Life, we believe in matching all our clients with a counsellor who has relevant experience and skills to support your individual needs. If you would like to access our affordable counselling sessions, we will carefully consider whether one of our current counsellors-in-training might be a good fit for you. If we do not have a counsellor-in-training with the right expertise to support you at that time, we will explain the reason why and discuss suitable alternatives.

We offer a free initial consultation with a member of our team via telephone for anyone interested in accessing our counselling services. This may last between 10 and 30 minutes and is an opportunity for us to find out more about how we can support you best, and for you to ask any questions you may have. This will also allow us to match you with a counsellor who's skills and experience are best suited to your needs. Please email info@mindfullifecounselling.org.uk to request a free, no-obligation, initial consultation.
