About me

I offer talk based psychodynamic counselling as a safe way to be heard.

I believe this can give an opportunity to share problems and create personal growth. This caring environment can help to develop choices and affect real life change for you.

As a qualified and experienced counsellor, I have worked for years both in training and with clients to help create healthy changes in mental wellbeing.

Working with me allows for the sharing of issues, where we can make sense of what is happening. This can help you develop choices to move forward with your life.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am well qualified and experienced with a BSc degree in Psychology as well as a PG Dip in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. That totals nearly a decade of training - with experience on top of that.

My experience covers working with depression, trauma, abuse, anxiety, ADHD, stress, relationship issues, sexual choices, spiritual experiences, addiction and more.

I regularly attend workshops and training courses to further my skills and keep up with new research and developments. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and adhere to their professional code of ethics which places the utmost importance on client care and confidentiality.

As a counsellor, I am in regular supervision. This is important as it means I can maintain the highest standards of care, always working towards your well being. I have an up to date and clear DBS.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
