Young Person & Adult Therapeutic Nature Coach

About me

Welcome.

By arranging an appointment you are one step closer to feeling happier. It is my mission to help you find YOUR freedom in Nature, to let go of your worries and whatever is holding you back. I believe it is our birthright to live happy, peaceful and fulfilled lives. Whatever has brought you here, be assured that you will find the safe space you need to make the changes in your life you desire and find the answers you are searching for.

WHAT IS THERAPEUTIC NATURE COACHING? A beautiful and unique blend of therapy and coaching. I have been trained in The Egan model which is a brilliant 3 step framework which at it's core is solution focused. We look at the issues presenting in the now, plan out what steps need to be made to get to where we want to be and then I walk alongside you as those steps are taken. The first stage of the Egan model is rooted in a humanistic approach, meaning that the relationship between myself and my clients is paramount. Here, I offer the principles of the core conditions and UPR (Unconditional Positive Regard.) This means that I listen, without judgment and hold space for you to speak your truth. Unlike some forms of Coaching we may revisit past events, uncover trauma and painful memories which are playing out in the present. This, I believe, is an important part of the process of Therapeutic Coaching. Working in and with Nature can really help us to move through and release, so our past doesn't continue to have control over us and true healing can begin. As your coach I won't tell you what to do but ask powerful questions so you can discover this for yourself. YOU are always the expert and everything you are seeking is already within.

As a meditation teacher, nature and forest therapy guide and trainee Shamanic practitioner I weave in other Nature wellness tools to help support you.

WHY OUTDOORS? Therapeutic Nature Coaching is a powerful and transformative way of working together.  We use nature as a tool to explore and inform the work. Nature often reveals to us, in the moment what is keeping us blocked from living the life we truly want. Our unconscious processes are revealed. With new found awareness we can work towards releasing and letting go of what keeps us stuck. Nature is our natural 'home' and can be incredibly nurturing, helping clients to manage difficult and painful issues supporting our mental and emotional health.

Therapeutic Nature Coaching is a brilliant alternative for those clients who are neuro-divergent, who may find working in the confines of a room more difficult. Despite being outdoors sessions are confidential.

Young People - I support young people over that age of 10 years, outdoors in nature. I have over 25 years of working with young people, firstly as a teacher and then as a Therapeutic Nature Coach.  I have worked  in many schools and colleges before setting up my own private practice.  In my time aways from work I am a volunteer Scout Leader.

12 week Coaching Package for young people.

Parents/carers in the past have often asked 'how can we help?'  I have therefore developed a triangle approach of support which includes outdoor therapeutic coaching for your young person, support and guidance for you and any liaison needed with school/college.

I offer a free 20 minute connection call to see how we might work together. The first session is indoors at my office and is for you to discuss your concerns for your child.

Weeks 2-7 are weekly outdoor sessions for your young person. Each session lasts 50 mins to 1 hour. We will then have a phone consultation to review and discuss our progress and I will offer you support and guidance to help you further support your child. The following 4 weekly sessions are outdoors for your young person. If we feel we need additional sessions at this stage these can be added. The final session is for you and your child (if they wish to be present) allowing us the opportunity to reflect on awarenesses made, embed new ways of being, harvest what we have learned and to end well.

Included in my package for young people are any calls needed or written letters / forms with staff at schools / colleges or other agencies. Parents / Carers can keep in touch with me between sessions via WhatsApp. I can also attend in school meetings if required for an additional cost.

Adults (over 18) - 12 week Coaching package. I offer a free 20 minute connection call to discuss what you are bringing. We will then meet weekly for 12 sessions either outdoors or outdoors online. If we feel further sessions are needed we can add these on. Our final session will be to reflect on new awarenesses, embed new ways of being, celebrate your journey and end well.

I also offer Coaching in the Wild Days  - we meet for a full days (6 hours)  deep dive into whatever it is you wish to explore. I offer a free 20 minute connection call. We will then have a 60 minute session on Zoom to really understand what your intentions are and what it is you are wanting to explore. We will then have a follow up zoom a month after our day together to check in on how things are progressing.

Sessions are available at Bramhall Park, Stockport and Chorlton Water Park, South Manchester. If you do not live locally we can also meet on zoom and both be outdoors where we are. Coaching in the Wild Days are from mutually convenient locations in and around the Pennines.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
