About me

I offer a working partnership founded on safety, kindness and compassion. I myself have reached out for help when I have needed it, so I know not only how difficult life can be, but also the help, support and guidance counselling has given me.

What I Offer

I offer you a space where problems can be worked through together, at a pace that is set by you.

What to Expect

A First Meeting

A first appointment will be arranged where we can meet each other either via a phone call or video call. I will explain the type of therapy I offer, answer any questions you might have and then we can begin to explore your reasons for seeking out counselling.

Weekly Sessions

Moving on, we will arrange the time and date of our next meeting.

What The Sessions Involve

We will meet via telephone or video, and here you will be invited to share your thoughts, feelings and experiences which we will explore gently together. Our session will last for 50 minutes.

Everything you bring to the counselling session is treated in the strictest confidence and all records and notes that I may keep are kept anonymous. Trust is an essential part of the counselling process.

Review

Periodically throughout the course of our sessions, we will review your progress and how you're feeling regarding the counselling. It is important that we know and understand the counselling needs and these can and do change over time.

Ending

Our sessions will come to end when it is felt to be the right time. We will come to an end mutually and carefully, respecting the work and progress that you have made and with your sense of being able to step into your future.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
