About me

Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or weighed down by anxiety, depression, or unresolved trauma? Do you long for a safe, supportive space where you can be truly heard and understood? I’m Tara, a compassionate and highly skilled BACP Accredited psychotherapist with over 14 years of experience helping people find healing, resilience, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Why Work With Me?

In my practice, I don’t just treat symptoms—I help you reconnect with your true self, heal past wounds, and build the emotional strength to live a fulfilling life. My approach combines evidence-based techniques with a genuine, human-centred touch, offering a unique blend of expertise, empathy, and insight that my clients find transformative.

• Trauma-Informed & Compassionate: I have specialised training in trauma recovery and am committed to creating a space that is safe, non-judgmental, and deeply respectful of each client’s journey. I understand that healing is a personal and sometimes challenging path, and I’m here to walk it with you, every step of the way.
• Science & Soul: Rooted in the latest research from neuroscience and somatic therapies, my approach is designed to help you unlock healing on both a mental and physical level. Trauma and stress don’t just affect the mind—they live in the body. Together, we’ll address both, guiding you towards a sense of wholeness and peace that goes beyond talk therapy alone.
• Real-World Experience: My background spans diverse settings, including university counselling, NHS work, support for refugees, and medical insurance. This breadth of experience means I understand the unique pressures of various life stages and circumstances, allowing me to connect with clients facing a wide array of challenges, from everyday stress to complex trauma.

How Therapy with Me Can Transform Your Life

Imagine feeling truly heard and supported as you explore your deepest thoughts and emotions. Imagine a space where you can safely unpack your burdens, knowing that you’re in expert, compassionate hands. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or a sense of feeling lost, I’m here to help you reconnect with your strengths and navigate life’s challenges with confidence and clarity.

My Approach

My therapy style is flexible, personalised, and empowering. I draw from evidence-based practices, but I also listen to what you need in each session. Some clients benefit from somatic techniques to release trauma held in the body, while others find insight through cognitive approaches. Together, we’ll tailor a path that works uniquely for you.

Client Testimonials

Clients often describe me as warm, insightful, and deeply empathic. They appreciate my ability to create a space where they feel seen and accepted for who they are. It’s my privilege to support each client as they step into a journey of self-discovery, resilience, and lasting change.

Ready to Begin Your Journey?

Take that first step towards healing by booking a no-obligation introductory session with me. Let’s work together to break free from what’s holding you back and move towards a life of greater fulfilment, empowerment, and peace.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
