About me

Hello my name is Sally,

Reaching out for help can be frightening, but is a sign of strength.

How can Counselling help you?

There are times when we all struggle & need a little support.

Taking time to talk things through with a qualified counsellor if you are not feeling yourself, or have been affected by something that life has thrown your way can really help.

I am:

A fully qualified & highly experienced counsellor (BACP Registered & Accredited).  I have over fifteen years experience in working alongside people from all walks of life. During this time it has been a pleasure to have been able to work with adults & youngsters in many settings. It has been an absolute privilege to be witness to the positive changes in their lives.

I am passionate about the benefits of counselling &, am delighted to be able to offer you a warm & caring environment from a private & comfortable dedicated counselling cottage in the beautiful town of Winchcombe.

What does counselling feel like?

Most of us are not used to receiving the time & space from someone who is actively listening.

At first this can feel a little overwhelming (although often it’s also a huge relief.)

Be assured that I will help you to feel comfortable and safe, without judgment.
We are all different… which means that I use my wealth of knowledge & experience to find a way forward that will work for you.

I can help you with:

Abuse,  Anger Management, Anxiety, Bereavement, Bullying, Child Related Issues, Depression, Eating Disorders, Health Related Issues, Identity Exploration, Loss, Relationships, Self Esteem, Self Harm, Suicidal Thoughts/Feelings, & Trauma (to name just a few).

  • I can offer you a little “Oasis of Calm in the Cotswolds“… for you to safely explore & reflect on your thoughts & feelings.
  • Sessions can be arranged on a time limited or open ended basis to suit your needs.

Contacting me :

I know how hard it can be to ask for help or to pick up the phone at times, however if you can & have any questions, or are interested in coming to see me for counselling, please do contact me with no obligation, by either E-mail or Phone.

(My phone may be on silent if I am with a client, so feel free to leave a message & I will get back to you as soon as possible by your chosen method).

You can also contact me through my website www.cottagecounselling.com

I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
