About me

A warm welcome to my profile. I am Dr. Rebecca O'Sullivan, a dedicated and compassionate counselling psychologist with a profound commitment to guiding individuals towards holistic growth and transformation. With a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of human behaviour, I offer a safe and supportive space where you can explore emotions, confront challenges, and cultivate resilience.

Therapeutic Approach:

My therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy, authenticity, and collaboration. As a counselling psychologist, my 7 years of training aid me to blend evidence-based modalities to create personalised treatment plans that aligns with your unique needs and goals. I am trained in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based interventions, psychodynamic therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy, among others. This breadth of training allows me to tailor interventions that are specific to you and assist you towards living a life that is in line with your core values.

Areas of Expertise:

Throughout my career, I have spent a decade successfully supporting individuals, couples and groups face a variety of challenging issues including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, self-esteem concerns, trauma recovery, and life transitions. My expertise extends to young people, adults, couples and families. My areas of specialised interests are relationship difficulties, OCD, and trauma.

The initial meeting:

I understand how important it is to find the right therapist when embarking on a therapeutic journey. Therefore, I offer all new clients a free 20-minute Zoom consultation. This is an opportunity for you to ask me any questions and to get a feel as to whether you think we could work well together. During this meeting, I will ask questions about your current difficulties, your past, and your hopes for therapy. If we decide to move forward after this consultation, I will send you my service agreement to sign and then move on to scheduling your first session.

Training, qualifications & experience

As a psychologist registered with the HCPC (health and Care Professionals Council), I adhere to the code of conduct and ethics as outlined by the HCPC. In line with this guidance, I receive regular supervision for my clinical work. My registration number is PYL042187.

Where I currently work:

I am currently restricted to online services.
