About me
A warm welcome to my profile. I’m Dr. Rebecca O'Sullivan, a counselling psychologist passionate about supporting individuals through growth and transformation. With extensive experience and a deep understanding of human behaviour, I provide a safe, compassionate space for you to explore your emotions, address challenges, and build resilience.
Therapeutic Approach
My approach is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and collaboration. I integrate a wide range of evidence-based modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based interventions, psychodynamic therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), among others. Additionally, I bring my training as a yoga teacher and practitioner of somatic healing into our work together.
By combining traditional therapies with somatic approaches, I support you in reconnecting with your body, recognising and releasing stored tension, and developing practical tools for grounding and emotional regulation. This holistic integration allows therapy to be tailored to your unique needs, helping you move toward a life that feels more balanced, authentic, and aligned with your core values.
Areas of Expertise
With over a decade of experience, I’ve helped individuals, couples, and groups navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, self-esteem concerns, trauma recovery, and life transitions. I’m particularly passionate about supporting those who are navigating the effects of overwhelming life experiences (often referred to as trauma) and assisting them in building healthier, more fulfilling lives.
The Initial Meeting
Choosing the right therapist is an important decision, which is why I offer a free 20-minute Zoom consultation. This session gives you the chance to share your current concerns, ask any questions you may have, and learn more about how I work. If we decide to move forward, I’ll provide you with my service agreement, and we can schedule your first session.
