About Me

Life can be challenging at times and leave us feeling overwhelmed or hopeless, isolated, stressed, sad or anxious. Talking things through with someone can help. I’m here to listen, as someone who is impartial and not connected to any part of your life. I believe it’s so important that you feel valued, heard and understood and I can offer a non-judgemental, inclusive, open space to support you to work through difficult issues and explore your thoughts, experiences and patterns at your own pace.

I have worked with a wide variety of people presenting different challenges including addiction, bereavement, self-worth and shame issues, trauma, anxiety and depression, gender, sexuality and relationship issues. I have experience of working with neurodiverse clients and I work individually with adults, online, on the telephone and face to face.

My Practice

I am an Integrative Psychotherapist and offer short-term and long-term therapy. An integrative approach means I draw on a range of therapeutic models, including person centred, psychodynamic and CBT to find a way of working which suits your individual needs. No two clients are the same, and everyone has their own unique experiences and so I have a flexible individualistic approach to therapy style.

The atmosphere of sessions is informal and friendly. You’ll have a confidential and safe space where you’ll feel accepted and where all feelings and perspectives are welcome. As the client, it is your time, you choose what you want to discuss and how much you want to share and we will work at a pace that is comfortable for you. I am here to listen and can offer a different or new perspectives to help you work through difficult issues and discover your inner resources and potential.

We will work in the present with the challenges and feelings you are experiencing, but I also believe that our histories can influence our present, so we may look backwards to look forwards. While we may be shaped by our past, we are not bound to it. We are more than the sum of our stories but by reflecting on our journey we can create a better understanding of ourselves and the issues we are facing.

Getting Started

Finding the right therapist for you can be daunting. I offer a free initial consultation via telephone or Zoom where we can talk about what has brought you to considering therapy and I will tell you a little more about how I practice. I will ask you some questions to find out more about you as a person and the issues you would like to work on and you will have an opportunity to ask me any questions you might have. This will give us a chance to assess whether we might be the right fit to work together. If you decide you’d like to go forward, we can arrange a session at a time that works. I will offer you a session at the same time every week and we can periodically review how things are going.
