About me
Hello and Welcome...
I understand this must be a difficult time and seeking support isn't easy ... sometimes we need things to change and don't know where to begin ... having experienced this myself I can empathize with this dilemma. I was fortunate to find a counsellor with whom I formed a trusting relationship which enabled me to find purpose and direction, overtime I gained a clearer understanding of self and others around me.. This allowed me to grow and flourish in self -acceptance giving me the empowerment to achieve and move forward with my life.
Knowing we are all unique and one persons experience will be different to another..My understanding of this has enabled me to offer a Counselling service tailored to your individual needs. I offer sessions which suit you either at my private practice or in the comfort of your own home; I also work weekends and evenings.
My aim is to provide a genuine, supportive, non-judgmental climate allowing a person to get in touch with their feelings, thoughts, beliefs and values. I believe everyone should be respected and listened to. I believe in the individual's potential and ability to seek their 'own Capabilities' of directing themselves. My primary focus is to enable an individual to be themselves, allowing a time and space to get in touch with difficult experiences, behaviours and feelings. I understand that sometimes we become stuck, distorted and stifled leaving oneself unable to achieve, strive and move forward. I offer a non-judgemental approach, allowing you to be open, honest and real.
I have worked in a variety of Health and Social Care arenas for over 30 years, within this time I have gathered a wealth of knowledge, understanding and expertise. I work with individuals, couples/relationship and young adults.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
