About me

Hi, my name is Hazel, and I love my job! I have over 20 years of experience working in mental health and pastoral roles with people from all backgrounds and cultures with mental health issues. I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist who decided to train to the highest level in my field. I am excited to be nearing completion of a doctorate in counselling psychology, which will enable me to provide you with first-rate therapy. I employ the existential approach, CBT and psychoanalysis to help you achieve your therapeutic goals collaboratively.

I have worked across the charity, private and school sectors with those struggling with mild to severe mental issues.

Dogs welcome! At Lifeways, we welcome dogs in the therapy room. Please feel free to bring along your four-legged friend to the sessions!

Therapy with children aged 12 years and over:

My extensive experience working with children makes me deeply committed to improving their well-being. I employ a child-centred approach to therapy and a broader social context. I aim to enhance emotional health, foster healthy development, and promote improved functioning in the child's everyday life. This commitment ensures my clients feel reassured and confident in the therapy process.

Building a trustworthy bond with the child is essential. Therefore, I use art and play therapy to help establish a secure and encouraging atmosphere that allows the child to feel at ease sharing their thoughts and emotions.

Adult clients:

Creating a welcoming and accepting atmosphere is a cornerstone of my practice. I am dedicated to ensuring your comfort, encouragement and empowerment throughout your therapeutic journey. This commitment to your well-being sets my services apart, making you feel comfortable and accepted from the moment you step into your therapeutic space.
