About me

I have evening and weekend face to face and online availability…… I offer a calm and confidential space for you to share and explore your thoughts and feelings; allowing you to talk about whatever is on your mind as honestly as you can. I have a welcoming and down to earth approach and will work with you and help you explore and untangle your fears or worries.

I work with a wide variety of emotional difficulties, mental health challenges and relationship issues including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, adult and childhood trauma, abuse, relationship/family difficulties and gender identity. I work with autism, ADHD, neurodiversity.

I offer open-ended, short, or long-term therapy depending on what your needs are. I work face to face and online via Zoom. I offer a free 20 minute telephone consultation, and if you decide to go ahead, we will see each other weekly for a 50-minute session. 90-minute sessions are also available.

In-person sessions take place in a discreet and tranquil therapy room. The premises are easily accessible by car; there is free parking and wheelchair access. I understand making initial contact with a therapist can feel a bit daunting; the first step is to get in touch with me & I will respond via telephone or email (you choose); to arrange our first session.

As a member of the BACP, I am bound by their ethical code and am committed to their exacting standards of practice and continued professional learning. I use my understanding and professional development to enhance my work and broaden my knowledge. Equality and inclusivity are built into my practice and all my clients are treated with equal open-mindedness and respect. I offer a safe and inclusive environment to all clients regardless of age (18+), ethnicity, gender, sexuality or disability.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a BA (Hons) Integrative Counselling degree and I use a relational and integrative approach incorporating psychodynamic, person-centred, and cognitive-behavioural therapy models.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
