About me
I am a fully qualified Counsellor Psychotherapist and I work with Adults, Children and Young People. As a highly experienced Counsellor, I offer Counselling Supervision to other Counsellors and Clinical Professionals. Please see my Supervisor's Page.
I am also an Animal Assisted Therapist and work alongside Charlie, Rex, Oreo and Cookie, 4 Animal Assisted Guinea Pigs.
At Silver Moon Counselling, I offer Person-Centred Therapy - a Humanistic Approach that deals with the ways in which a person consciously views themselves. I am client-led and do not offer you advice, but trust that the relationship we develop together will allow you to find what you need.
I offer therapy to Adults, Young People and Children (aged 5 years plus) from my private therapy room and am comfortable working in a variety of ways. I can use creative media to help explore and find a way for you to explore your inner world and how this is impacting you.
There are any number of reasons for entering counselling and therapy, including low self-esteem, a lack of self-reliance and resistance to change and new experiences. These can be experienced by adults, children or young people. The person-centred approach recognises that our relationships (work or home/school) and the environment in which we live, can impact how we feel and behave, so I offer therapy in a neutral and comfortable setting where you can feel at ease, making you open to learning about yourself.
Working together, I can offer you:
Better awareness and understanding of your 'self' and who you are.
Increased awareness and understanding around your defenses, your coping strategies, insecurity and guilt.
The opportunity and ability to trust you and the decisions you make.
Healthier, more positive relationships, either personal or professional.
Improvement in how you express you as a person and verbalize your needs to others.
A genuine, healthy and balanced sense of change.
This can happen in your own time when you feel ready.
I have a child friendly therapy room and a waiting area outside. I work with sand, stones, paint, figures, puppets and lots more.
I work with autistic and other neurodiverse clients and have additional training to support this work.
Please note, Charlie, Rex, Oreo and Cookie only work on specific days of the week.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
