About me

Hello.

I have been a qualified integrative counsellor/psychotherapist and supervisor for over twenty years, working in private, in-patient, and secondary settings with a wide variety of individuals, couples, families, and groups from different backgrounds, addressing a very wide range of psychological, emotional, and behavioural concerns, some of which include,  Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Family issues, Low Self-esteem, Abuse, Anger management, Addictions, (Inc: Alcohol, Drugs, Gambling, Co-dependency, Sex, and Love), Trauma, Eating Disorders, Dual Diagnosis, Bereavement, Relationship concerns

My Integrative therapy practice is based on a belief that each individual client is uniquely different and that, as such, clients benefit from a tailored therapy approach with which to explore and gain a better understanding of their unique individual experiences and the influence of such experiences on their overall well-being.

My Integrative therapeutic approach has the goal of creating a warm, safe, confidential, and accepting therapeutic relationship that provides a holistic process of identifying and gaining a fresh insight into both past and present experiences, exploring beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and behaviour, and identifying and exploring any problems and considering how best to address them.

Having spent many years as a therapist, it is clear to me that despite the many difficulties that can impact people's well-being, individuals have the capacity to explore, identify and overcome negative influences and thereafter, regain full functioning and renewed meaning, and purpose in their lives.

Should you require any further information or advice, please feel free to contact me for an informal chat via the 'Book intro call' tab at the top of this page.

I am a registered member of the British Association for  Counselling and Psychotherapy and I practice in full accordance with the BACP ethical framework

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
