Cigdem Tas, Psychologist, Counselor&Psychotherapist, Supervisor, Reg.BACP
9-15 Elthorne Road
I am a BACP accredited integrative psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience. I am trained in Existential-Phenomenological approach, Psychodynamic approach and CBT and third waves of CBT such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
My therapeutic approach is to develop a good therapeutic alliance in which the client feels safe, empowered, ready to explore and resolve their difficulties and ensuring that sessions are personally tailored to address their needs. Therapy is for asking some sensitive questions and finding ways to feel contained and resilient in life. My approach is to help you ease on your journey whatever you are going through. Isolation is always make it more difficult to tackle life challenges. Therapy can be a hand that you can trust and feel that you are supported.
Subject I worked
I worked with wide range of presenting issues such as trauma, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), psychosis, borderline personality, OCD, seperation, loss, breavement, depression, anxiety, domestic violance, obstacles, work and family related conflicts, relationship problems,psycho-somatisation, Gambling and affected others.
Types of therapy I provide
I provide individual, couple and group therapy via face-to-face, telephone and online.
What to expect initially
You can contact me via phone or email and ask for initial session. This session is about to find out what you are looking for, your expectation, what I can offer and how I work. It can be only a single initial session to address immediate issues and direct you on them. It can be session to address issues that you want to work on further. We can set either few session or longer that is purely depends on your needs and availability. Once we agreed on regular sessions I usually see you once a week. weekly session are the most common and more required frequency. However, I sometimes provide flexibility on that according to what you want.
Life is a paradox and it sometimes can be experienced very overwhelming. To have a safe space to explore and reflect can make sense of life and gives you courage to face difficult times better.
