About me
Hi there, my name is Annabel. I am an integrative Psychotherapist/Counsellor based in Bradford and Leeds as well as working online and by telephone.
In my practice, I will offer you a non-judgemental safe and supportive space where you are believed, respected, understood and valued and where I aim to provide you with the space for growth.
Life can be quite challenging in so many ways I understand this because I have worked with diverse people in various settings such as sexual health, HIV/AIDS social support, rape and sexual violence, bereavement, counselling children and young people with various challenges, children and young people in care, adoption, LGBT communities, asylum seeking people and refugees. My counselling approach facilitates self-awareness and emotional healing at a pace that feels right for you because ultimately you are the expert of your life.
I will work with you in a relational way using a combination of therapeutic approaches. My approach recognises your uniqueness and the need for your therapy to adapt to your own way of being within safe boundaries.
You might find Integrative therapy beneficial in the following ways:
- Clarity and a greater understanding on the causes of why you feel the way you do.
- Recognise your triggers and how to manage yourself in a productive way.
- You recognise the limitations you've set for yourself and work through ways to move beyond them.
I am a registered member of BAATN which is The Black African and Asian Therapy Network. This means I value, recognise and acknowledge the impact of different cultures on my client’s life experiences. Being a member of BAATN means I continue to widen and deepen my awareness in order for me to practise as a culturally competent therapist.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
