About me

Hello, I’m Anna and I understand that It can be really scary reaching out for support when life is overwhelming you.

By looking for counselling support you have already taken the first positive step to creating change.

I feel it is important to offer a warm, welcoming environment to develop a good therapeutic relationship, with trust and empathy at its core.

It is important that you choose a counsellor who you feel comfortable with and are able to build a rapport with. To help you make your decision, I’ll explain how I work; I provide integrative counselling which means I draw on a wide range of psychological methods and theories in my practice to provide a service that I am able to completely tailor to your unique needs.

You, as the client, are at the centre of the whole counselling process. I provide a safe and confidential space for you to talk freely and openly while working together to explore the impact that your thoughts and feelings are having on your life. We will look at different ways to gain a clearer understanding of yourself or your situation and develop healthy coping mechanisms, facilitate change or bring about acceptance and peace.

I provide a safe space to support you in restoring your confidence and self-esteem; building on your skills and knowledge of yourself; developing resilience and finding a way to fulfil your potential.

The counselling process can support you to make sense of your experiences and develop a 'ToolKit' of strategies that you can use in the future.

I follow the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Code of Ethics to ensure good practice and I am a member of this organisation.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
