About me

Are you struggling with your relationships or expressing your feelings to others?  Like many men I was raised to be rather cut off from my feelings, and unable to express them to others. Raising men in this way can leave us feeling lost and disconnected from those around us, and I was astounded to see how differently my life could be once I connected with my feelings and my inner self. I'm passionate about working with people including men to help us connect with our feelings and our inner selves, and to create deeper and more intimate relationships

I am close to many people who identify or are diagnosed with neurodivergence, so I've seen first hand how difficult life can be in a society which far too often doesn't understand. If you are struggling with tasks that others seem to find simple, perhaps this includes household chores or problems with work, I can help you implement strategies that work for you

I welcome a diverse client base into my therapy room.  Having moved between Wales and England in my life, I've been fascinated and often surprised to see how I've been judged as being Welsh when I'm in England, and then English when I'm back in Wales.  I will be greatly interested in hearing your own cultural story, and working with you to help you understand how this impacts you.

I work with GSRD clients, and have a particular understanding of asexuality and aromanticism, which are often much less visible in society.  I understand that asexual people often feel "broken" because they somehow don't fit into what is expected typically in relationships, and you may struggle to understand how relationships can work for you.  Questions such as how am I going to live when I don't fit into society's expectations around relationships and sex are very common.  There are many different ways of bringing the relationships you need into your life, and I will help you find what makes you feel connected and fulfilled in your relationships with others

I see each client as a unique individual, and I find it a privilege to be able to work with you on your own path of self-understanding and discovery. Contacting a therapist can be nerve-wracking or daunting, but it is your first step towards a much improved self and a much more joyful way of being in the world.  Contact me today to book in your consultation.  I look forward to hearing from you

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
