About me

I believe in a heart-led approach to counselling. I work in a person-centred and integrative way to provide the best care that suits you as an individual.

I provide a safe and confidential space where feelings such as depression, anger, stress, relationship problems and anxiety can be expressed and explored and, in time can lead to a path of self-discovery and in time healing.

At times life can become overwhelming and by exploring this together we can discover what circumstances or issues are having an impact on your day-to-day well-being. The overwhelming feeling of being heard for the first time enables you to feel open to new possibilities of you being understood without judgment and to look at exploring how you can eventually in time create that place of finding you again. It is imperative that this is done at your own pace and only when you feel comfortable and safe to do so.

I have had additional training to work with children and young people alongside the experience I hold of over 15 years working with children, young people and vulnerable adults that covers various conditions which will also link to feelings of low self-esteem, challenging behaviours and anxieties.

Young people and children

I can offer a safe and confidential space for them to explore their feelings. I build trust by entering the child or young person’s world through creative play and various techniques that best fit the child or young person

I feel that it is the therapeutic relationship that is at the heart of psychotherapy. Creating a bond of trust with the child, young person or adult offering a non-judgmental and empathetic person-centred approach.

I am also trained using Makaton sign language and volunteer for local charities such as Aberlour Youthpoint, Elgin Youth cafe and Revolution for good. I am registered with COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland), and NCS (National Counselling Society) which means I abide by their strict ethical code.

I see clients face to face and I am at present based in Elgin. However, I can cover other areas in Moray and Aberdeenshire. I work with a flexible approach to adapt to your commitments and lifestyle, so I also provide counselling via telephone or online.
