About me

Welcome to Connect & Balance Counselling & making that first step to healing yourself & moving forward . Hello, I’m Ruth and I’m a qualified Integrative Counsellor.

I understand it takes courage to ask for help when issues are becoming to overwhelming & I am humbled you have decided to look at my page. I invite you to continue reading my profile and take a few moment to   browse my published articles below, to inspire your confident in me and what I offer.

I will support you to be the best version of yourself, & provide effective methods  to enable you to lead a meaningful, fulfilled life.

I work with adults & young people with a wide variety of issues, like anxiety, depression, sadness, general anxiety disorders, grief, recovering addicts, relationship, neglect, low self-esteem,  physical, & emotional abuse, work related issues, stress, confidence, loneliness, bereavement, cancer & trauma.

Everyones’s journey is different and I  will walk beside you,  supporting with compassion to understand & resolve your problems.

I offer tools to help you apply positive changes to your life,  which will enable you to manage independently even after therapy has ended.

My integrative process facilitates you with an deeper awareness of reflecting how your feelings & choices impact your mental well-being & empowers you to gradually move forward with a healthier outlook.

It’s not always easy reaching out to someone you know & often those closest to us are unable to help, not because they don't care but because they just don't know how too.  If you are struggling with anxious stressful emotions, I will be a neutral party to provide empathy & genuine understanding to your personal difficulties.

As a therapist, I focus on your individual problems, safely guiding you to the heart of the issue to reduce your distress and help you to flourish, grow & become a better version of yourself.

I provide relaxed counselling therapy sessions, working through any difficult obstacles at your own pace & time. Working ethically, inclusively, with integrity & equality, respecting diversity, culture, race, gender, ethnic backgrounds & sexual orientations without judgement

The focus is about you and your recovery, working together to build a solid foundation for a secure, trusting relationship & ‘Finding Yourself’ again. This promotes you with a deeper awareness of your thoughts, feeling & actions, to enrich the outcome for positive results.  Validating your self-belief & worth to manage your triggers independently.

Counselling nurtures your personal growth & you will learn to boost your confidence to grow, enabling you to have a stronger self-belief to cope when overwhelming feelings become too intense.

Empower yourself with a greater sense of fulfillment & live in the present. Make  your own choices with confidence, not fear & find the personal happiness you deserve.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
