About us

Throughout our lives we all experience ups and downs, some of which can negatively impact upon our mental health and emotional wellbeing. At Resolve Counselling Services we are committed to offering counselling support in a confidential, non-judgemental space, to help you deal with issues that you may be finding uncomfortable, painful, or confusing.

At Resolve Counselling Services we know how difficult it can be to take the first step towards accessing counselling because it means we have to admit to ourselves that we are finding some aspects of our life/lives difficult. This could be because of a recent or past experience or because we are experiencing problematic thoughts and feelings about ourselves or others. We will work with you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours enabling you to build your resilience, develop coping strategies and overcome the difficulties you may be facing.

Resolve Counselling believe the quality of the client-counsellor relationship is fundamental to effective counselling. In our roles as counsellors, we will accompany you on your own personal journey. We will work with you to support you. We will enquire and respectfully challenge your thoughts and feelings in order to gain an understanding of your perspective. This will enable you to recognise your own inner resources and acquire a deeper understanding of yourself and your problems.

Within our counselling practice, we have experience of working with children, young people and adults. We also have experience of working closely with carers and families who look after their loved ones.

To get started with regular therapy sessions, we can arrange a free 30 minute consultation, either in person, online or over the telephone. During this initial consultation we can determine together if therapy with Resolve Counselling will meet your needs.

Member organisations *

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

We have verified that at least one professional at this organisation is registered with the relevant professional body.
