About me
I am a registered member of the BACP and work within their ethical framework and principles. I am also an Accredited Registrant member of the NCPS. I have been qualified for over 25 years. I offer one to one client led therapy with children aged 3 years upwards, young people and adults. I am an Integrative therapist but also a qualified and experienced psychodynamic practitioner. I work with younger clients through the medium of play and observational interventions. Sessions can be offered short term or long term. Filial therapeutic sessions are also offered to enhance the relationship between parent and child and the containment within that relationship.
I have several years experience of working with foster carers and foster care agencies and providing reflective and therapeutic interventions to support them with parenting the children in their care and understanding the complexities of parenting a child who has experienced childhood trauma.
I also offer training for foster carers and their networks which focus on a range of topics and issues that impact on the children they are caring for.
Training, clinical consultations and support is also offered to staff and multi-agency professional networks. This support includes assessments, court reports, training sessions for safeguarding issues, trauma informed practice, working with complex trauma and neglect, risk assessments, safety planning for self harm and suicide ideation. Group supervision and experiential group facilitation is also offered alongside case management and clinical supervision. I offer discounted supervision and therapy to counselling students and trainees.
Please feel free to contact me for more information or a confidential chat to discuss your needs. You can email me or call me on the number above. I look forward to working with you.

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society
This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations.
In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information
I support the LGBTQ+ community and provide one to one therapy and group work for gender/ identity issues, transitioning, body dysmorphia, safeguarding issues and any other issues that impact on members of our community.
I also support children and young people within the care system, and care leavers and have an in depth understanding of the impact of their childhood experiences, attachment issues and complex trauma upon their current life choices and presentations.
I have a particular interest in women's health issues, especially how the stages of menopause impact upon the daily lives of women and their mental health and emotional well being.
I have spent many years working with those impacted by the issues around hoarding and home cluttering. This can affect people in many ways and can be a symptom of something much bigger for the client. Many people who struggle with the different levels of hoarding and cluttering, also struggle to ask for help and support for many different reasons including guilt, shame, embarrassment. I offer a safe and non judgemental space for all clients impacted by these issues.
I have worked extensively, throughout my time as a practitioner, in partnership with statutory organisations and third sector services. My main working background has been within educational provisions, mental health services and social care settings. I work as a therapist across Wakefield and the surrounding areas. I also offer online therapy, training and clinical consultations.
