About me
Hi, I'm Lee and I’m a fully qualified and experienced Person centred therapist.
Approaching therapy as a person centred counsellor allows me to work with many different presenting issues with each unique client and as no two clients are the same, no two sessions of therapy will be the same. I offer a friendly, professional counselling service in a confidential setting.
As a counsellor I am accepting, genuine and understanding. I am passionate about my work and through my experience I have found it a privilege to be a part of my clients journey. I will listen to you as you explore your situation without judgement or advice allowing you to express yourself freely as I believe in my clients innate ability to find their answers through their own personal understanding. This often helps clients to make sense of their situation and move forward with their lives.
I feel that access to counselling and psychotherapy should be available to everyone. I am able to provide home visits for anyone who is unable to access face to face therapy due to a disability, physical or non-physical or through illness.
I have also found that walking and talking can be of great benefit to those who are able to partake and as such this also a service that I offer.
Training, qualifications & experience
Throughout my practice client's have come to me experiencing various difficulties. I have helped them with their sense of hopelessness, of not being good enough, of rejection, of not being able to move on, of unidentified distress-knowing something is wrong but not being quite sure what.
Sometimes client's feel that they are being controlled in their relationship, subtly coerced and manipulated. Other times client's know that their lives need to change but are unsure how or in what way or that they are not accepted or would not be accepted in their relationships if they were to be their authentic selves. Others again struggle with their relationships with those close to them but have no one that they can talk to about these struggles. It is in these situations that having a confidential impartial relationship which is focused solely on the issue at hand can be very beneficial

Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
whilst I am not a psychologist I have worked with clients that have presented with 'disorders' or traits of conditions and disabilities such as PTSD,OCD, perfectionism, people pleasing, Autism, self sabotage, over-giving and over-responsibility, oppression, coercive behaviour. I also work with people who feel they work to much and can't turn off or who are burnt out as a result of how they live, people who feel they need to 'escape' from their lives through substances or behaviour. I like to view therapy from different angles and I'm happy to work with you in the way you feel yourself to be and at your pace.

Further information
My aim is to offer a therapeutic relationship of the highest quality so that you feel valued and heard during our sessions. This I believe is one of the most important aspects of counselling, a relationship in which you feel safe and accompanied in your journey as times of difficulties in our lives are often best worked on with someone who you trust and who is there for your benefit. Through your counselling/therapy journey there may be challenges to meet and difficulties along a sometimes long road, I feel these are some of the very real aspects of counselling and whilst these hardships can occur during therapy I also believe that with commitment to yourself and your development these hardships can be overcome and a better way of being can be attained. I personally have had many years in the therapy chair as a client and I can attest to the potential benefits that can be achieved through counselling.
