About me

I am a BACP qualified psychodynamic therapist and coach, project manager and mental health consultant and trainer. I have over 15 years’ experience working with vulnerable children, young people and adults in a range of community settings; the last 12 of which as a therapeutic practitioner, and as a manager of whole-system mental health programmes working alongside young people and the adults involved in their care.

I am a qualified e-therapist offering therapy and coaching online.

The therapy I offer is trauma informed and neurodiversity affirmative. I offer a safe, calm and non-judgemental space to my clients. My approach is supportive, active and collaborative, helping you to identify patterns in your experience, identify your own meanings and to work alongside you to facilitate the changes you want to make in your life, at your pace, and in your own unique way.

Whilst I am flexible in my theoretical approach, my core counselling training is from a 'psychodynamic' orientation. This means I am interested in the ways in which behaviour is motivated by our unconscious thoughts and feelings. I am also interested in our early childhood experiences and how these impact on our present day relationships and sense of self.

I offer support with a range of issues including:

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
