About me

It's lovely to meet you, things might be difficult right now but I'd like to support you through it. Before I was a counsellor I was a client, and have felt first hand the nervousness of approaching someone for help when my thoughts, emotions or circumstances have been overwhelming. To be searching for a counsellor in the first place is an enormous step, you're on the right track, keep being courageous...

As a counsellor, I have supported clients in a range of settings, including the NHS, education, corporate and private practice. These clients came to me with varying issues and experiences, some of which were stress and anxiety, addiction, identity, baby/child loss, lack of motivation, burnout, LGBTQ+ related issues, intimacy and relationship issues, coping with grief and loss and depression. You might not yet be able to name what you're experiencing, you just might know that you don't feel yourself and that is as valid a reason to come to counselling.

I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming the things that challenge you. It takes courage to explore our emotions and minds, I am here to support and empower you in that journey.

I reply to every enquiry that I receive initially via email, please check your junk/spam folders if you send an enquiry as sometimes the response ends up there!

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

Sessions are priced at £50 for a 50 minute session

If you are a counselling student, I am able to offer reduced fee counselling towards your personal therapy hours. Please message me if this is of interest to you.

I offer a free 30 minute intro call, it is important that you feel you can develop a relationship with your counsellor and this is a good way for us both to test the water. I'll ask you a little about why you are seeking counselling support, what your expectations are for your counselling experience and whether you've used counselling before. You'll have an opportunity to ask me questions about my practice, and who I am as a counsellor. Before we start the sessions you will need to complete a counselling contract and provide emergency contact details, I will explain this in more detail in our intro call.

I am able to provide invoices for clients who are expensing through their employer.

When I work

I work weekdays, with evening appointments being reviewed by request. I do not work weekends.
