Supervision details

Supervision can feel challenging, especially when the work is complex, carries risk, or stays with you beyond the session — but it should remain a place where you can think and reflect freely.

I offer clinical supervision to student and qualified counsellors across a range of workplaces, including NHS, EAP and charity services, corporate and education settings, and private practice. I have worked primarily with adults, including bereaved clients, LGBTQ+ clients, and those presenting with depression, self-harm and suicide risk. I also understand the realities of working as a lone practitioner and the responsibility that can bring.

I’m a Level 6 Clinical Supervisor, with a strong Person-Centred foundation and integration of Existential and Transactional perspectives where helpful. In supervision, theory supports the work — but it doesn’t override your lived experience in the room.

My approach to supervision is relational, reflective and grounded. I’m interested not only in the client process, but in what the work stirs for you as the practitioner. I welcome bringing your “stuff” into supervision, recognising that who you are inevitably shapes how you work. Supervision is a place to think freely, reflect honestly, and develop confidence without being judged or assessed. That said, I will offer challenge and deep reflective work as a part of the process, let's dive in together.

I work online via Google Meet, Teams or telephone, and I’m trained to a specialist standard in delivering online and telephone supervision. I also offer ad-hoc or single-session supervision for counsellors whose regular supervisor is unavailable, or where a different perspective or specific experience would be helpful.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
