About me
Trauma-Informed Counsellor | ADHD & Autism Specialist
I’m Helen Hoyte — a qualified counsellor, coach, supervisor, and educator with over 20 years’ experience supporting people through life’s complexities.
I specialise in working with adults who feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or stuck in patterns that don’t fully make sense — often linked to trauma or neurodivergent experiences such as ADHD or autism. My work is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and the belief that meaningful change begins when we feel truly seen and understood.
I offer a calm, grounded space to explore whatever’s going on for you — whether that’s anxiety, burnout, identity struggles, relationship difficulties, or a sense of feeling lost. You don’t need to have the right words. Together, we can begin to make sense of things.
My practice is neurodivergent-affirming and trauma-informed. I understand how your nervous system, life experiences, and environment shape how you think, feel, and relate. I work integratively, drawing from person-centred, somatic, cognitive, and psychoeducational approaches, so I can adapt to what best supports you.
I have a particular interest in working with women navigating life transitions — including ADHD, perimenopause and menopause — especially those who feel pressure to hold everything together while quietly struggling underneath. I also support young adults exploring identity, direction, and emotional wellbeing.
Alongside 1:1 work, I deliver training and workshops for counsellors on understanding ADHD, create wellbeing resources, and teach at Devon Counselling College. My practice is based in Devon, and I work online with clients across the UK.
If you’re looking for a safe, supportive space to untangle your thoughts, reconnect with yourself, and move forward in a way that feels more manageable and authentic, you’re very welcome to get in touch.
