About me

I am a qualified, experienced counsellor working in Sudbury, Suffolk. I have a BA (Hons) degree in Person Centred Counselling. I offer 1:1 counselling at a pace that suits you and bespoke to your needs.

I am here to help you when feelings become uncomfortable or overwhelming. I work with children, young people and adults offering therapy face to face, via phone or online, whichever you or your child would prefer.

Training, qualifications & experience

I work with clients from 8 years old, all the way through to adolescents and adults. I am able to adapt to the counselling that suits you. My approach is person centred and non-directive. However, if talking can sometimes feel awkward, I use various creative methods to help clients feel comfortable and relaxed. With children it may be through play. I also use sand tray therapy and art. I pride myself in being able to provide a safe space where clients will be listened to and feel relaxed.

Some clients maybe experiencing a current crisis, coping with processing traumatic events, or difficult experiences from the past. I have had the privilege of working with survivors of trauma, bereavement, abuse, relationship problems, low self-esteem, eating disorders, anxiety, as well as depression. I also work with neurodivergent clients looking at the individual away from the diagnosis and learning to feel comfortable with your authentic self.

My approach is always non-judgemental, friendly, kind, and respectful. We will face challenges, make sense of your thoughts and powerful emotions together, working towards you leading a more contented life. At all times I aim to make you feel safe in order that you can unpack your experiences and unravel your stories.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
