Elizabeth Firman MBACP, BA (Hons), Post Qualifying children and young people
I am an experienced and fully-qualified counsellor with a private practice located in Sutton Harbour. I can offer you a confidential, sincere and non-judgemental relationship, exploring issues and presenting problems that have brought you here. I work with a wide range of issues such as stress, grief, depression, anxiety and loss of meaning or purpose.
Seeking therapy for the first time may seem daunting, but I have a warm and approachable manner and can help you feel at ease. It is paramount that you feel safe to talk about the challenges you are facing in your life. I am here for you. Whatever is challenging you right now, talking to a caring professional can be transformational.
We will walk together and discover the root of your issue and help to create a better understanding of it. This will provide you with the opportunity to make positive changes in your life and help you to feel and become fulfilled.
I am a registered member with the BACP and as such, work within the ethical framework.
Please feel free to contact me to discuss whether counselling is right for you, finding the right counsellor is vital to the success of your therapeutic journey.
I offer sessions face to face in my therapy room on Sutton Harbour (free parking available), I also offer counselling in your home or online counselling through Zoom.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
