About me

Hello and welcome to my profile.

I offer counselling and psychotherapy based on over 35 years experience and qualifications, as a person centred, integrative, somatic ( working with the body sense) and creative arts based therapist.

I have many years experience in supporting those with a history of trauma, complex family relationships, divorce and separation, bereavement, anxiety and depression, low self esteem, attachment histories and ADHD/neurodivergence.  I have a speciality for those who identify as 'highly sensitive/creatives as an artist myself, and am able to offer mindfulness/compassionate therapy as part of therapy if of interest.

Each person is unique and together we explore your needs, your preferences and how therapy can be tailored to you. It is the relationship which enables growth, alongside the tools.  Both short term and long term counselling can be beneficial, as the relationship between counsellor and client is unique, and can bring true lasting transformation, whether in weeks, or months. We decide this together.

I occasionally have a waiting list so please be patient if this is the case. Thankyou.

I  mainly offer support online, most clients finding it equally as effective as face to face.  I do have a few in person spaces, please ask me.  My intention is to welcome you home to yourself! We integrate the tools and techniques in a way personal to you, to enable you to feel more authentic, happy, fulfilled and ready to face life with hope.

My clients say my style is enabling, empowering, transformational and gentle, while also being deep enough to effect lasting change, often in a short space of time. If you are seeking a shake up of your life, or in a transition which is bringing up challenge and trauma, or you know there are aspects of your life ready to be faced and released, contact me for a first meeting.  I offer a free first phone call which you can click on from this profile, and then a follow on introductory meeting with more in depth exploration.

I have past history as a child play therapist, and co-ordinator of two services in the fields of bereavement, cancer care and palliative care. I have also pioneered previous services for abuse survivors, those in the care/foster care system and within school settings.  I no longer offer individual child therapy but can offer consultations to parents on occasion.  I have a vast experience of complex childhood traumas from these years, alongside a deep respect for families of all shapes and sizes.

Clients often find me when on a particular path of transition and change, ready to face the deeper wounds of life and awaken to a greater sense of fulfilment.

Issues I am highly experienced with - anxiety/depression and low self esteem ;  trauma such as abuse survivors, narcissism, bereavement, family and relationship breakdown; creative blocks; climate anxiety; neuro-diversity/ADHD issues;  inner child explorations;  and general lack of fulfilment.

Its a tough time for many of us right now, so I appreciate that therapy and the deeper work of healing can feel vital yet scary.  Reaching out for therapy may be a daunting prospect. I invite you to take your time, read my profile and website, and take care in choosing your therapist.

I am informed by person-centred theory, Jungian psychology, transpersonal psychology, attachment theory, family systems theory,  creative arts therapy,  body-centred psychotherapy, mindfulness, ecotherapy, and shamanism.

I am an experienced group facilitator and trainer , and offer regular training to qualified and experienced therapists and other professionals. I am also a busy supervisor for other therapists.

Please feel free to contact me and I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
