About me

Hello and welcome to my profile.

At this time of the Corona Virus Shelter in Place, I am available for online psychotherapy and counselling, having offered this prior to the lockdown experience.  As a therapist with over 35 years experience, I am happy to offer support for those experiencing symptoms of trauma, anxiety and loss over this period. Its a tough time for all of us, and i wish to offer my services, to help you if I can.

Reaching out for counselling or psychotherapy can be a daunting prospect, and I invite you to take your time, read my profile, and take care in choosing your therapist.  This is an important relationship, one in which you can hopefully unpeel the layers of your life, find your true potential and move to fulfilment.  I  offer an introductory meeting, so you can decide in your own time if we are a good 'fit'.

I offer over thirty five years experience, qualifications and training in the psychotherapy, counselling and healing fields.  As an integrative humanistic therapist, I believe in the power to reach our full potential given the right circumstances. I am honoured to help on this journey. I link mind, body and spirit in all my offerings.

In our sessions, we may talk, explore your body based experience, do some inner exercises such as visualisation or use the creative tools of art and the sandtray  - it will be your choice always. Online therapy works equally as well for most people as meeting face to face. Our relationship is the key to your capacity to grow, and I will always offer respect, care and empathy for your journey.

As a psychotherapist, I prefer to offer therapy and counselling over a period of time so that your journey of growth is one of depth and fulfilment.  However, I am familiar with shorter term counselling if you wish to begin to explore your growth with a fewer sessions first.

I have many years experience in the fields of bereavement and loss, palliative care and cancercare, history of trauma, relationship issues, inner child work, abuse survivors and attachment disorders.

I particularly specialise in supporting women and men who are highly sensitive, maybe hold a spiritual dimension to life and are ready to embrace and fully awaken to your own qualities. I offer a safe space to release past trauma, discover hidden gifts, and emerge fully into life from your individual histories.

Other areas I have expertise include:

Separation and divorce; traumas such as abuse; childhood issues; depression and anxiety, low self esteem; and other life transitions.

Although I am a qualified play therapist with many years experience supporting children, young people and families, I have few spaces nowadays for children. Feel free to contact me and I will hopefully be able to signpost you to an available therapist if I have no spaces.

I am informed by person centred theory, Jungian psychology, transpersonal psychology, attachment theory, family systems theory,  creative arts therapy,  body-centred psychotherapy, mindfulness, ecotherapy, and shamanism.

I have extensive experience within the spiritual dimensions of life, as a trained 'spiritual companion' with a background in transpersonal psychology and a healer with over thirty-five years experience. I am a lifetime meditator and also a highly trained shamanic practitioner.

I am an experienced group facilitator, and offer regular training to qualified and experienced therapists and other professionals. I am also a busy supervisor for other therapists.

I look forward to hearing from you if you like what you read here and wish you well on your journey of growth and healing.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BAPT

British Association of Play Therapists

The British Association of Play Therapists was founded in 1992 by a group of now respected practitioners who introduced and pioneered Play Therapy within Britain. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Further information

I welcome approaches from anyone who is interested in personal growth as part of the conscious awakening movements in men and women.  Sometimes therapy can simply be a place to explore growth with no known trauma or issue.  Sometimes it is time to open the door to potential.  Or a transition leads to a change of perspective.  Contact me if this is your interest. I can offer coaching/counselling in this area.
