About me

Struggling with Anxiety, Depression, Relationship Issues or work stress? I specialise in these areas, providing a safe place for you to explore your difficulties; helping you to gain fresh insight and enabling you to learn new skills to manage your issues. I am also experienced in Couple Counselling knowing that being in a relationship can evoke many challenges, often resulting in ineffective communication with each other which can leave us feeling very dissatisfied in our relationship. The counselling I offer is a space for you to bring and explore any issues which are proving too difficult or distressing to manage on your own or between you. We can often feel too embarrassed, proud, fearful or lost to ask for help. I provide a non judgemental, warm and supportive space for us to work collaboratively to improve any issues that you may be facing on a day to day basis. Our sessions can be short term (more CBT focussed), or longer term depending on your individual/couple counselling needs. As each person and each relationship is unique it is important that we work together using a variety of techniques that will benefit You the client.

I work from comfortable, contemporary, counselling rooms in a quiet, scenic area of Wickford, called the Wickford Centre for Counselling & Psychotherapy (WCCP) and in the Town of Chelmsford in a comfortable, private, Victorian house called the Chelmsford Wellbeing Centre (CWC). This is located right behind Chelmsford Train Station. I provide an environment of trust, confidentiality and acceptance, believing that the therapeutic relationship between counsellor and client is essential to the work we do. Please feel free to contact me by phone or email to discuss your individual counselling needs. I am happy to provide an initial 15 minute telephone conversation to answer any questions you may wish to ask regarding therapy.

I am registered and fully insured as a healthcare professional with Bupa, AXA/PPP and AVIVA if you have health insurance which covers your mental health. Please feel free to contact me to discuss this more in depth, as this may help you become more aware of your counselling options.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
