About me

Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, unsettled or unsure of yourself? Perhaps you're finding it hard to move forward after a major life change, or you're still feeling the impact of a traumatic experience. Whether you're dealing with challenges at work, in your relationships, or grieving the person you had always hoped to be, it can be helpful to share the load.

I work with clients who want to move beyond self-doubt and gain greater clarity and confidence in themselves. I offer a supportive space where you can explore what's holding you back, work toward a deeper sense of self-trust and inner calm, and open the door to genuine, lasting change.

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your unique needs. In our sessions, we'll work at a pace that feels right for you, exploring your thoughts, feelings and patterns in ways that support insight and growth. I draw on a range of therapeutic methods to help you reconnect with your inner resources, face life's challenges with greater confidence, and feel more at ease in your own skin.

I work with adult individuals of any age, gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or cultural background. My practice is supervised by a clinical supervisor to ensure it remains safe, ethical, and attuned to your needs. I'm also deeply committed to ongoing personal and professional development, so I can continue to offer a reflective, supportive and ethically grounded space for our work together.

If you feel ready to begin, or even if you're just curious about whether therapy might be right for you, you're very welcome to get in touch. I offer a free, no-obligation 20-minute telephone call, so that you can ask questions, and get a feel for whether I would be right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

Training and Experience

I am a qualified integrative therapist and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and I work in accordance with the BACP code of professional conduct.

My approach is primarily person-centred, which means I'll support you in finding your own way forward by exploring the thoughts and feelings that matter most to you. I also draw on training in Transactional Analysis and Gestalt therapy, allowing me to tailor sessions to suit your unique needs and preferences.

I work in a trauma-informed way, meaning I'm always mindful of how past experiences, even those that may not seem like "big" traumas, can shape how we feel, think, and relate to ourselves and others. This also means I pay close attention to how emotions are held in the body, and how we can gently work with those responses to support healing and resilience, moving beyond just coping, toward feeling more whole and grounded over time.

I trained with a mental health charity in South Oxfordshire, where I supported individuals facing a wide range of issues, including low self-esteem, confidence, relationship difficulties, trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, procrastination and life transitions. In addition to my private practice, I continue to work with a charity that specialises in supporting adult survivors of sexual abuse. This work has deepened my understanding of how to hold space for people with care, sensitivity and compassion, whatever their story may be.

In addition to my training as a counsellor, I bring real-world experience to my therapeutic practice. As a wife, and mother to a young adult daughter, I understand the complexities of family life, parenting, and navigating relationships.

Before becoming a counsellor, I had a diverse career: first in scientific research, and later as a Chartered Management Accountant. My experience spans both the public and private sectors, and also the education sector, giving me a broad perspective on the various pressures and challenges people face in different aspects of their lives.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
