About me

I am a Children and Adolescent and Couples and Individual Psychotherapist / Psychodynamic I have a private consulting practice in the South East, I have been a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist and the lead Couples Therapist at the Priory Group Well-being Clinic since 2014  and am currently working as a Children and Adolescent Psychotherapist with 5  to 18 year olds in education.

I bring to my work a variety of experience in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy for Individuals and Couples. My experience include Charity, Private, University of Kent Student Counsellor, NHS & Primary Care.

I offer both Time Limited (or brief) counselling to focus on a particular issue offering 6-20 sessions or a more in-depth longer process of psychotherapy which explores in detail what influences behaviour, thought patterns and processes and emotional experience.

My therapeutic approach draws on a range of concepts including psychodynamic, Mentalization Based Therapy working with families in conflict, my approaches include Psychodynamic Psychotherapy including MBT and personality disorders and relationship difficulties.

"There are many reasons why you may wish to talk to someone, it may be following a difficult experience like the loss of a loved one or a relationship breakdown or an earlier experience you want to resolve. Perhaps issues with a family member or previous partner remain misunderstood or painful but you may feel now you are ready to talk to someone. Other times it is simply because you feel that talking to someone who may be able to listen and offer some help is something you wish to explore. Speaking to someone in a comfortable, professional and safe environment about things can often bring a sense of understanding to difficult and stressful situations bought on through life's journey. The most important thing to know is that there is someone who can help you and will be able to offer you the type of support that is right for you"

I offer advice and professional help on a range of issues and am flexible in my availability and work specifically to the suitability of your needs.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
