About me
I am a kind and creative Child Therapist with an unwavering Passion for helping children and adolescents deal with life's crises. With a profound love for nature and a heart full of Patience, I feel I have a rich background as a teacher for primary school-aged children, a nursery and theatre school owner, and a counsellor specialising in supporting individuals through various challenges. I have a particular affinity for working with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN) and those with attachment issues. My passion for teaching and nurturing confidence in young minds has been instrumental in supporting children with these challenges. I have also been successful in my work with children on the autism spectrum, employing creative approaches to foster growth and understanding.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Counselling certificate in Child and Adolescent Counselling. My journey towards becoming a therapist was fuelled by my love for teaching and a desire to make a positive impact on young lives. I have completed extensive training in attachment theory, psychoeducation and low-key cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), allowing me to provide holistic support to children and teenagers.
Professional Experience: Throughout my career, I have accumulated a diverse range of experiences. I spent seven years with Cruise Bereavement Care, offering solace and guidance to those facing loss. For two years, I was a dedicated advocate for victims of crime with Victim Support. During lockdown I stepped up as a counsellor at Burton College and a high school counsellor, adapting my skills to remote sessions and the unique challenges posed by the pandemic.
