About me

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming and we can become stuck in a cycle of negativity due to difficult experiences and emotions which can impact our mental health. My aim is to help people become unstuck, to help you find a way to understand why this is happening to you and to offer a safe place to talk about difficult experiences and emotions.

I am an approachable, caring, non-judgmental counsellor who works with people on an individual basis, very much wanting to see things from your own perspective. Counselling can feel daunting but become empowering. Taking those first steps can be difficult yet could be the start of a new beginning and help towards managing past or current difficult experiences.

I have gained valuable experience over the years by supporting men and women with;

·        Anxiety and depression

·        Life changes (Job/unemployment, relationships, moving house)

·        Historical and/or recent abuse (neglect, sexual, physical, emotional)

·        Impact of ill health (Mental and Physical)

·        Grief

·        Neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism)

·        Hormonal conditions such as PMDD, peri-menopause and menopause.

I offer face to face short term or long term counselling sessions depending on your individual needs and goals and work either from a private counselling room in my house or by walking and talking around a local green space. Please do get in touch if you would like to ask any questions or find out a bit more about me.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
