About me
I believe that every person is unique, and I hope to empower you to develop resilience, navigate life’s transitions, and overcome issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties and self-esteem challenges. As an Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, I believe no one theory holds the answer, and I can draw on the different schools of thought according to your needs and your experience.
Having benefited from counselling myself, I trust and value the process of counselling but recognise how hard it is to take the first step. Meeting your courage with compassion and empathy is of utmost importance to me and I will provide a non-judgemental space where you can safely explore what has brought you to counselling. I believe feeling safe is paramount and I will hold this understanding in every session together. Central to my work lies a profound desire to understand you and to help you gain an understanding of yourself and enable you to seek the change you are looking for.
Making your first appointment can be overwhelming, but it's the important first step towards bringing about positive change. You can get in touch with me via email, text, or a phone call. Once you have made contact, we will arrange a time for an initial meeting where I will learn a little about your concerns and for me to tell you how I work and to see if we would like to work together.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained as an Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor at Matrix College of Psychotherapeutic Counselling (affiliated to Middlesex University) and am an Accredited Full Clinical Member of the UKCP.
I hold the following qualifications:
- BSc (Hons) Integrative Counselling
- Advanced Diploma Integrative Counselling
- Diploma Integrative Counselling
- Certificate in Person-Centred Therapy
I have several years of clinical experience at MIND which allowed me to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, each grappling with their own unique challenges. This experience deepened my empathy and understanding of the human mind. I also have clinical experience at a private practice in Cambridge. Currently, I am employed by the same practice as a fully qualified counsellor.
I hold Professional indemnity Insurance and Public Liability Insurance. I am DBS checked.
Prior to becoming a counsellor, I managed my own event management business. This background instilled in me the importance of prioritising relationships, which continues to shape my work and philosophy. I firmly believe that everything revolves around the connection between individuals.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
